Hi, i plan to create 12 WS host, for office purpose, the heaviest task is usually chrome browsing, there's also graphic programs such as Corel and Photoshop but they arent used very often..
What would be the recommended processor and ram ?
Option 1 :
Thinking of getting X99 mobo + e5 1620v3, but x99 mobo's are expensive and they dont have display ports at all..
meaning i gotta use at least 3 GPUs to achieve 12 WS
Option 2 :
Cheapest Intel i7 1151 variant + any 2 ports mobo, cheaper alternative, also only needs 2x Rx470 (5 ports), but the question is.. is this good enough for 12 WS?

I think as cheapest option, you should go with a second hand xeon workstation, or an amd. (8 - 12 cores)
obviously they can't guarantee fully functionally performance simultaneously for everybody, but should be the cheapest and acceptable option I guess.

Server stuff is rare in my country... Kinda worried about warranty and also ECC ram is very hard to get here.

So 1 core per WS is true? does hyperthreading help at all?
hyperthreading should help a bit for this purpose..
where are you from?
you should find this kind of stuff easily on ebay, if international shipping is available for your country, those components in the article should be good and for a bit more than a thousand dollars you should be ready, (with basic GPUs and obviously unwarranted 2nd hand pieces)
building a proper brand-new thing could be very expensive, more than 6 regular pcs per 2 aster workstations I believe.
Yeah i've seen some 12 core secondhand processor on ebay.. should be able to pair them with X99 boards..
Would cost me +$200-$300 more compared to second option though..
Does aster allocate processor, gpu and the ram evenly or is it adjusted based on active WS?
Nope programs will use random cores. But I think you could easily tweak something via batch commands to set proper cpu affinity for every user. Not sure about the RAM
Another thing i just found out... can aster use mst hub? havent seen this mentioned in the specs page or FAQs..
if its possible i could use x99 + xeon + 2 VGA card setup, assuming each vga has at least 1 display port

Already read that invas, still not very clear about ideal requirement..
It seems the conclusion is one ws = one core
just thought i could get real experience from the forum
